Smokvina bay is located in the middle of a beautiful area in nature on the south of the island of Hvar, only 20 km from the Sučuraj ferry harbor. The nearest village Bogomolje is 4,5 km away and can be reached on a well-maintained rubble road. The bay has one of the most beautiful pebble beaches on the island. It is 100 m wide with small pebbles and soft subsidence ideal even for small children. Apart from Stella house there are only two other smaller houses located in this bay. Here you can enjoy the quiet atmosphere, beauty of the crystal clear sea and magnificent views. The owners have turned the ground floor of their house into a very cosy pub - konoba with it´s terrace directly on the beach. The owners are very friendly with a homelike atmosphere all about. The pub offers great Dalmatian specials made from fresh fish, local eko meats, fruits and vegetables. You can also buy (and consume at the pub or in the privacy of your apartment) great local red or white wine, various herbal spirits (travarica, mrtina) and liqueurs (Rogač, Limunčeto). Other local specials include home made pršut (prosciutto), cheese, honey and almonds. For a very reasonable price the guest can rent out the owners motorboat and take short trips to the surrounding bays. The owner can also organize trips to Pelješac, Korčula and Ščedro islands on a larger boat. Everyday the Smokvina bay is visited by a lady selling fresh fruits and vegetables. Parking is directly by the sea only 50m from the house. The island of Hvar was awarded to be one of the 10 most stunning islands in the world and offers a great number of beautiful places whose to a visit you will never forget.
