Our children love the sea, but sometimes they long for a change, and a playground is an excellent diversion on the way to shopping or ice cream. Here's a short report on the playgrounds we visited on Hvar Island.
Stari Grad
Probably our favorite playground. You'll find it in the town center behind the market, with a park adjacent to it. Right next to the playground there are also trampolines, but we didn't see them in operation. The playground itself is a bit shaded by trees from the park, which is quite nice on a hot summer day. However, the shade mostly stays in the morning, not so much in the afternoon.

Jelsa
The playground in Jelsa is also in the town center, near the Riva, and a park is also adjacent to it. There are more trees and shade there. There are also trampolines next to it, and they were in operation. The playground is actually right next to the parking lot in the center.

Vrboska
The playground in Vrboska is the newest; there's no shade there – the trees haven't had time to grow properly yet. Just a few years ago, I remember Vrboska without a playground. You'll find the playground in the center, by the Riva, with a view of Vrboska and the sea, near konoba Lem.

Hvar
The playground is near the center, by the promenade to the city beach Bonj. From the center, you'll walk towards Hotel Delfin and then further along the promenade. The playground is hidden in a park, so there's plenty of greenery and shade. From the entire playground, there's a beautiful view of the sea, and Bonj beach is visible at the end of the playground.

Sućuraj
We liked the nicely renovated playground right in the center of Sućuraj by the Riva. There's a beautiful wooden boat, swings, a slide, and a small carousel. The playground is under trees, so there's pleasant shade even on a hot day.
